detailed personality description: Rei is a rather independent individual. She doesn't like to rely on others to take care of her, most of which is due to the lack of a caring guardian in her life. She's practically raised herself and is used to being a solitary person. Occasionally she comes off as something of an ice queen since she rarely gives other people the time of day. She expects others to cater to her, hinting at the fact that she is slightly spoiled, though the reason why is mostly to keep the girl content rather than angry.

Some might consider much of her independence partly to do with the fact that Rei is a very rich teen. Her father's job has given Rei the type of upbringing that most teen girls can only dream about. She only has to ask for something and it will be given to her, and unsurprisingly Rei asks for very little, keeping with her disdain for being dependent on someone other than herself.

Rules are something that Rei will follow, but doesn't necessarily agree with. She likes to make her own rules, and would much rather be in charge herself. She hates taking orders from other people and has no problem saying so to their faces. She's blunt and overly outspoken. Rei is under the belief that everyone who has an opinion should be allowed to speak their minds for the whole world to hear, otherwise they might as well return to the stone age.

Rei is fiercely loyal to people that she deems worthy of being friends with her and vice versa. To Rei friendship is something you cannot break; it's a sacred vow and one would be extremely lucky to have a friend like her. She would go to no ends to show that friend just how important they are to her.

Inside, Rei is a rather lonely teen. She misses her father at the same time as hating him for abandoning her. Relationships with men tend to scare her, at the same time as enthrall her. She yearns to find true love and be happy as her mother once was, but Rei fears that should she ever decide to marry and have a family that she would disappoint the child just as she herself has been disappointed.

One of her biggest flaws, one that she cannot seem to forgo, is her temper. Rei has a temper with a short fuse. It doesn't take much to set her off, especially when she always considers herself to be right and the other person wrong. Argumentative and quick tongued, Raye has found herself many times at a crossroads with her grandfather, father, fellow peers, and teachers.

overall description: Standing at 5'3" and withing in at 102 pounds, Rei is rather petite for her age with a slender figure. She has shoulder length hair that is a dark brown on normal occasions, though it manages to turn a darker hue during the winter months. It is normally left straight, something she is rather proud of. Her eyes are a bright brown, giving her the wide-eyed innocent look that can be deceiving to others. Her soft peach colored skin also adds to her look of innocence by giving her an impish grin and a look of pure mischief when in all actuality there is more than meets the eye.

For clothing Rei follows the mantra that comfort is the most important aspect to consider. She favors jeans, converse styled shoes, and a basic tee-shirt that usually makes her look more petite than she already is. At school she wears the required uniform of a tan pleated skirt with a white blouse, socks, and black mary-janes, but Rei loathes the outfit with a vengeance. When she's working at her grandfather's temple as a tour guide Rei will wear a ceremonial priestess robe of red and white, accenting her radiant beauty. While she does favor comfort, Rei has been known to step out of the box and wear an occasional skirt or dress, but that is usually reserved for special occasions like an outing with friends, a date, or a visit from her father.

As Sailor Mars Rei can be seen wearing a one piece white body suit with a red pleated skirt that goes down to mid-thigh and a matching red bow on back. The top of her sailor suit has red shoulder sleeves and a purple colored bow on her chest with a gold medallion in the middle. The outfit is completed with white elbow length gloves, red high heels and a golden tiara across her forehead with a red ruby-like gem embedded in the middle.

detailed history: Rei was born on a rainy day in April to Katsunori and Fusa Hino, barely nine months after they had been wed. The couple had only dated eight months before marriage, and both were very young. The first part of Rei's life was rather ordinary. Her mother stayed at home with Rei as her father continued his high profile life as a politician, and then, when Rei was only three, her mother grew very sick. Rei's grandfather came to help out, but Rei's father seemed too busy to come and see his dying wife, and suddenly it was too late. Rei's mother passed away in the winter, and after that her life seemed anything but ordinary.

Growing up Rei was more or less raised by her grandfather and own self. The only times she seemed to see her father were at the monthly dinners he required for them to keep up appearances of a political family. Rei resented this, and more and more began to grow into the person her father was whether she realized it or not. At the same time she began to help out in the Shinto Temple that her grandfather owned, thus giving her some sort of time away from the world had created for her, and one she hated. Eventually she was forced into the local Catholic school for girls, and it was here that Rei entered a life of mixed popularity for her beauty and an outcast for the visions she couldn't help from coming.

It was only a year ago that her life changed yet again, thrust Rei into the role of a super hero by the name of Sailor Mars. She worked together with the rest of the Sailor Scouts defending earth from the Negaverse while searching for the missing Moon Princess. While it took some time Rei began to accept the help of others and made close friends with the scouts, just as she had once done on the moon so long ago. Unfortunately the final battle was the end of the sailor scouts, their memories being erased with the defeat of the Negaverse. Since then Rei has returned to the mundane lifestyle of a priestess in training, though she still has the feeling that there is something very much wrong in the world around her.
